nrl.com website

Brief

In 2006, C4Digital was tasked with building the official site of the National Rugby League including all the expected content publishing and data distribution features, but using an open source CMS to keep the costs manageable.

Solution

C4Digital selected the emerging Microsoft .NET technology DNN as the basis for serving the 1million NRL fans who visit the site each month, with particular emphisis on publishing live scores which is crucial for NRL fans without access to pay-TV.

Results

NRL fans in 2010 are now visiting a site that can deliver coaching-level stats about matches, as well as the latest news and video available on the sport, in a design that is without peer in Australia. DNN has proved a solid foundation of what is essentially a fully fledged publishing platform that supports NRL, AFL, V8 Supercars, BigPond Sport and horse racing. In 2011 C4Digital will roll out a new CMS onto NRL that will make publishing even more reliable and easier to use.
